World Congress on Active Ageing

A celebration of diversity and inclusion in active ageing

The BHF National Centre has teamed up with Glasgow Caledonian University to stage the 8th ISAPA World Congress on Active Ageing (WCAA). This Congress will attract a world-wide community of researchers, policy makers and practitioners and will be held in Glasgow on the 13th - 17th of August 2012.

In the London Olympic year of 2012 the Congress will be an event that will not only highlight the latest research evidence and best practice on physical activity and active ageing, but also highlight the needs of an often excluded but growing population group world-wide, the oldest old.

Over 4½ days the WCAA 2012 programme will contain a wide range of opportunities for Active Ageing professionals including:

  • evidence into practice seminars
  • practical physical activity and exercise workshops
  • meet the expert sessions
  • one day “Senior Passes” involving the public
