About the Primary Care Team
Our Primary Care Project Manager works towards raising the profile of physical activity for the prevention, treatment and management of long term conditions. Information, guidance, support and training is available to help primary care professionals and allied healthcare professionals encourage patients to become more physically active.
The centre has established a reputation for developing and disseminating high quality, evidence-based practical resources and training programmes for professionals working in the primary care setting and for professionals working with primary care practitioners.
Particular areas of interest include; brief interventions training, cardiac rehabilitation, exercise referral, physical activity prescription guidelines for chronic conditions, developing practical tools for raising physical activity in primary care and training for professionals working with children and young people with long-term medical conditions.
