JOIN NOWPhysical activity for early years - information for parents
In July 2011 the UK Governments published new physical activity guidelines. For the first time these include guidelines specifically for the under fives.
These information leaflets are designed for parents of children under the age of five. They provide information on how much physical activity young children need to do to benefit their health as well as practical physical activity ideas and how these can be incorporated into a daily routine. They provide information on:
- why being active is important
- what types of physical activity are best
- ideas for active play
- healthy eating for young children.
There are two leaflets available, one with information on physical activity for babies who cannot yet walk and one for young children who can.
