Help your child move and play every day
Since 2011, the Government’s physical activity guidelines include recommendations for the under fives. The BHFNC has produced this leaflet, in conjunction with the British Heart Foundation, to provide parents and carers with guidance on physical activity for young children. It includes practical ways of incorporating physical acitivty into a daily routine and outlines the health benefits to children under five.
It includes information on:
- why being active is important and what types of activity are best
- ideas for active play - at home and outdoors
- reducing sitting time
- healthy eating for young children.
A leaflet is also available with physical activity guidance for parents of babies who are not yet walking.
