Setting children up for life

Setting children up for life

Anna Chalkley, Children and Young People Programme Manager at the British Heart Foundation National Centre and Post Graduate Researcher at Loughborough University, tells us why she believes that physical activity in the early years is vital for children's health and development in later childhood and adulthood.

The Best Start in Life sets out four key asks for policy makers to ensure every child has access to high quality physical activity opportunities from birth. We’re asking policy makers to embed early years physical activity into physical activity policy nationally, regionally and locally to ensure physical activity is supported across the UK at home, in early years settings and in the community.
